Artist description
A night spent at a Wylde Nept show isn't your typical Celt jig. A Wylde Nept night is sure to contain plenty of dancing, laughs and strong ale fueled by the antics of the seven members of the band and the wacky, bobbing charades of their loyal Neptiles. If you perchance to see us in one of our haunts, please do not be afraid to wear your Midieval outfits, it can't be any more harrowing than what lies under those Kilts! |

Artist History
1993 saw the dawn of a new flavor of local music in eastern Iowa. Wylde Nept was formed when a group of friends realized that they had several common interests; Celtic music, drinking and frequenting taverns. The next logical step was to take the circus on the road for all the world to see. The first stop for the circus was at The Left Bank on St. Patricks Day. All seven (or was it eight?) mates hobbled in the round in the middle of the small bar and brewed some powerful tales of Celt life. Since that night, Wylde Nept has played on television, on public radio and a boat. Somehow during all this melarchy they have two CD's, A Drop of the Creature, and "Live in 3-D". The live CD was recorded in October and November of 1998 at The Mill in Iowa City and features an actual 3-D CD cover and glasses. Please do not view while operating heavy machinery. |
