Artist History
1991 through the present: an epic story the size of the human experience itself...It all started in a log cabin alongside the Jersey Turnpike...we used to learn to read music at night by the light of the hearthfire...after that, we all went to music school, and eventually got together through ads in a local NJ music paper...we've recorded, we've gigged, we've loved, we've lived...we even opened for a few national acts (Jawbox, Black 47, Moe)...not that we like dropping names or anything. So, now we exist in a state of constant momentum. Look for us at a venue near you soon, we might just be there. |

Press Reviews
"Brainy, frenetic pop-rock...a rare combination of bombast and quirk." (Andy Glass, Independents' Day column in The Music Paper; Now, at first I thought this was the strangest thing I ever heard, so I listened again and confirmed it. The first song sounds like it could be some sort of TV sci-fi theme. The next song has everything weird one can do with music, vocals and more. You need an open mind for this one." (Aquarian Weekly, review of "Surf'n' Buddha" b/w "Area 51" single release); "I guarantee you've never heard anything remotely like the kind of '90's-sounding art-pop these guys play...strange and beautiful songs with a lyrical content as weighty as it is poetic...any band that can incorporate thoughtful words and imagery, gorgeous melodies, and a completely unique style into their music is worthy of respect. And PH101 most certainly is. (Chrissy Rosettie, East Coast Rocker) |
