Artist History
Our first full length CD, "Can of Bliss" was released in February 1997. Thanks to airplay from WJRR in Orlando, WYNF in Sarasota, and WXTB in Tampa, we sold enough units to fund our second album. The next CD, GROUNDED, was recorded at Morrisound Studios in Tampa, 2000. It showed a more diverse side of the band than just plain guitar rock. Koncrete Kite is currently working on a third CD for 2003. |

Press Reviews
Now here's a quartet that likes to switch things up. Generally, they're a rock band in the purest sense of the word-the wild, wild guitars and voluminous bass lines ride with authority over the top of monstrous drum cadences and lead singer Joe Bove (one of four brothers in the band, or mebbe cousins) waxes both shrill and throaty in his charismatic vocalizations. They've got an L.A. rock vibe, sometimes showy and full of some glam influences-but then they shift gears and go into amphetamine overdrive with an urgency that damn near approaches the tone and caliber of punk-pop. Drummer Rich Bove displays great dynamics, alternately thrashing and restraining himself accordingly. His hyperactive rhythms turn "Baltimore" into a neo-punk-ska gem (no-one's credited with the perky horn lines) while the acoustic rock intro of "Chameleon" soon gives way to dancy, buzzsawing guitar boogie. The opening cut "See You Next Tuesday" is attitude-laden, thanks to Greg Bove's relentless fuzz guitar attack and bassist Chris Bove manages a tasty tone throughout the entire album. Sometimes surreal lyrics paint pictures of isolation and desolation, especially the witty "Hemingway House" which finds inspiration in the reclusive writer's former abode as Joe sings "I'll buy the myth/if you will try it on." Insightful stuff for a buncha rockers, there's a lot to love here. - JAM MAGAZIN |
