Artist History
This southern Ontario 4 piece has been writing and performing together since July of 1997, developing songs that combine just the right amount of noise, melody and raw power - a sound they have dubbed "melodic-infectious-noise-pop." Bass player/vocalist Pete and his brother guitarist/vocalist Dean have been writing and performing songs together since their early teens. They hooked up with Gerard Ross back in 1995 when all three were part of a five-piece power pop band. When that band decided to call it quits Pete, Dean and Gerard quickly took advantage of the situation to start their own project. Their first release was a self-titled e.p. It was recorded by engineer Rob Sanzo (Treble Charger, Radioblaster, Scratching Post, Voivod). This CD garnered rave reviews and also had two of its tracks featured in the FOX made for television feature motion film "Silver Wolf." Knacker released their first full-length release titled Snapshot in Late 2000. This album was nominated for Best Rock Album at the CMW Indie Music Awards. The band was also successful in licensing almost all the tracks to TV in Canada and the US (MTV- The Undergrads, City TV's- Fashion Television). In 2001 Knacker added second guitarist Jefrey with on F to the mix. Also, new drummer Chris has been added to replace the departed Gerard. Knacker is currently tracking their next full-length release with producer Krisjan Leslie (Limblifter, Zuckerbaby, Age of Electric). The new album, which is full of catchy choruses and sophisticated melodic cleverness, should be out in the fall of 2002. |

Press Reviews
This Toronto based "melodic-infectious-noise-pop trio, if given the proper recognition which means airplay, could set a new trend out of an old one. Here's an admitted punk rock band who sound like they're having fun and the listener can interpret what they're doing, and have fun listening to them. A tight unit who write all their own material and that's where they shine. The song material is hot and snappy and actually has a plot and direction. Don't compare them to any other band...their sound is uniquely their...punchy vocal harmonizing that grooves into one. There isn't a clunker amoung the 12 tracks, but real standouts are Rhonda, Yesterdays News, The Waiting Game and Waking on Nothing. (RPM Magazine, JULY 2000 |
