Artist description This is the pop/rock/alternative/cheese side project for Mark Zipkin, from The Beatless. Mr. Ak covers the stuff that wouldn't fly for the Beatless, or as stuff that later on will be rewritten for the full band. This allows for a number of things: 1. The Beatless have become controllingly guitar-based, which is cool, except I can't play guitar. Therefore, Mr. Ak is generally stuff I write on piano. 2. I only play a few instruments well enough to record on; thus, I will have as many of my musically-inclined friends writing/performing here, which will make quite an interesting bit of noise. 3. Part of the band mentality allows that other musicians may make minor or major changes to the composition. This is generally a good thing, especially for me, since I am limited in my instrumentation and creativity on other instruments. This, however, lends a unique writing style to my songs, and the tend to be very different from their original form (in my skull juice) to their final, recorded form. This will, therefore, be some crazy shite. 4. I can slowly help myself get over the fact I hate my voice through periods of crying, which I record and upload so that the world can study my pathetic limitations. That's it, hope ya like.

Artist History Mark has been writing music since he was three, though it has mostly been due to hyperactivity; his pop writing began in the summer of 1994 and his classical composing began in 1996 (some of which can be found online under the Mark Zipkin Orchestra).
