Artist History
The whole idea began back in 1997/98 when all the bandmembers lived in the same town, Levanger. We had this house where we used to go [Fenka], and there it was possibilities to start a band. We had problems finding ourselves a name - what where we to do? A coupple of months went by, and then one day an old teacher in school was telling this story about one time he was in africa on a safari. And on that safari he had a big safariknife - and safariknife is safarikniv in norwegian. We thaught it was a cool name. Meaning nothing... hehe.. so that's why it's the name safarikniv. Our first gig was back in 1998. It was terrible! Our drummer where pounding away on the set - leaving us a coupple of measures behind. But hey! The audience loved us.. so we practiced like hell - for a whole year. The next concert we played was in 1999. Then the setlist was much better - our music was thight. The show was great, and the audience loved us. So we're still up and standing. Making new songs - and there will probably come an album during the year 2000. We have no record contract, so we are hoping to get one soon. Hopefully this will happen. |

Press Reviews
Listen.com review; These Norwegians blast a vicious, heavy and hard punk attack. They wear their influences on their sleeve, and don't yet match TRBNGR's punishing power [by Mark M.] |
