Artist History
Equal parts Metal, Industrial, and Prog Rock, Nanochrist are hard to categorize. But three things are for certain: They are always heavy, interesting, and unpredictable.
Mythelectronicon is the 4th album from Nanochrist, and is available at www.towerrecords.com. It marks the 10th full-length release from guitarist Mike Bryant.
Crunchy guitars and heavy bass are interwoven with swirling synthesizers and distorted percussion loops. Over this are vocals ranging from melodic to lung-tearing screams. All of this is combined using dissonant intervals and a variety of time signatures in order to make the music as ugly and challenging as possible.
Influenced by artists as diverse as Rush, Strapping Young Lad, Nine Inch Nails, Peter Gabriel, Fear Factory, Pitchshifter and Frank Zappa, Nanochrist mesh parts of many genres into a unique style of their own. This has landed them as high as the #4 and #1 spots in the Metal sections of garageband.com and mp3.com, respectively.
Nanochrist have a spot in the world's largest independant CD compilation: "The Canadian Independant Box Set" from Meathead Records. They are the only Canadian members of both the Industrial Remix Coalition d-conztrakt, and the Third Wave Collective.
