Artist History
Two friends, Håkan and Erik always had a burning interest and love for reggae music. As teenagers they came together in 1983 and started creating music. In their home city, Gothenburg (Sweden), they had the opportunity of performing with different reggae bands, Wisy Rythm among others, and meeting various reggae enthusiasts over the years. It was not until 1994 that they were introduced to Madoxx by a mutual friend. Madoxx is a Ugandan living in Sweden. As a vocalist he’s spent a great deal of his time recording and performing with reggae as the music in focus. He’s also taken part in various musical projects. Håkan, Erik and Madoxx have always worked with a proffetional attitude ever since they met. They have managed to compose lots of reggae songs together including a few commercials. With inspiration from artists like I Jah man, Gregory Isaacs, Lucky Dube and many others, the three have managed to come up with a roots reggae character of their own. Despite the lack of recognition by record labels, M.G.S has carried on with great pride and has been appreciated by many reggae lovers. Håkan plays drums, Erik plays keyboards, Madoxx plays guitar and all three sing and write songs. The trio has always been aware of the fact that their talents are God given and that the ability to work together is by guidance of the spirit. M.G.S is therefore an abbreviation for Majestic Grace of the Spirit. |

Press Reviews
"I'll likely give them the whole gamut. They are a real refreshing band to hear." (Eddie Foronda)"Reggae appreciators will have this in home rotation ("unfortunate man"). Being too long for radio airplay will relegate this to an album cut... but a good one. PREMONITION: I predict commercial success for this band." (RAMBO REPORT) |
