Artist History
After being a radio/club DJ for over a decade, DJ M-ILL decided it's time to start working on his own music. He began producing in 1997 under the name Ex Sauce Ted and put out the first two tracks "Kids On Chelsea" and "Friends", which had great response from the electronic Internet community and some indie oriented media. Two years later, he decided to change the name to Tripnotic and went into serious creation of head-nodding trippy tunes. In a very short period of time, Tripnotic was recognized as one of the most promising new acts on the electronic scene as well as one of the most inventive remixers of our time. The first album "Broken Aesthetics" was released, following the success of the singles "Perverse Pleasure", "Tripnofunk", "Revolution:Difficult", "Metal Patrol", "UltraFUNKular", "Moments B4" and "No Turn On Red" . Never insisting on a specific genre and always using unique methods of style-blending to express his visions, he gained a huge army of devoted fans. |

Press Reviews
Beginning with a lush swirl of synths and moving into tight syncopated yet buyoant beats this is one for the funkers. - review of "No Turn On Red", SHAREE from JUNGLE VOODOO, MAY 2001. Good tunes, they have a running sound that i think would work well on the dancefloor. - NMAN from ARGON RECORDS, APRIL 2001. I like the breakdowns and then the shift in the beats. The trumpet sounds really make me think of Ben Neill. I like your use of effects. It could be part of a score for a movie, like Lost Highway. - review of "Re Turn", MATT from LIQUID SALVATION, October 2000. Your track is pounding, everything about it is underground and brooding. I love this sort of stuff. Really throbbing bass line, and those modulated notes are very trancey. I can see this going down very well in the London Underground dance scene. - review of "No Turn On Red", NEIL T, September 2000. Real Macedonian kaval ethnics! Never heard the instrument, but here we have bouncy dnb made with no other electronic instrument than the drums! If there is a synth or anything else it's well disguised. You'll be dancing with aborigines before midnight. - review of "Moments B4", THE UNIVERSE WITHIN RADIO, March 2000. Ethnic sounds from Tripnotic in this drum n'bass tune. Great low break on the second beat, and cool vocals flow through this tune. The use of Macedonian flutes spices it to become a highly enjoyable ethno jump up track. - review of "Moments B4", SONICA RADIO, March 2000. Well I don't know what to say about this one except that I really like it. The style is a bit like some of the better new-house I've been listening to lately like Cassius or Basement Jaxx. It's simple, groovy, very bassy and completely happening. It’s the type of track that could be your theme song if you wore platform shoes, a white and blue vintage leather jacket, and sunglasses in the shape of stars. When John Travolta walks the street he hears "Staying Alive". When I'm walking around I hear this track. Of course I'm way too white and way too geeky to ever embody the disco diva demeanor required to really pull it off, but hearing this song makes me wanna try. Yea, do yourself a favor and download this track. Then get yourself a party together, put this on, turn up the volume, and watch a boring party turn into a wild disco orgy. - review of "Tripnofunk", EPD, MAY 2000. Creative. Good recording, variation. Has a robotic communication feel. An Electronica Experimental Extravaganza. - review of "Friends", RAMBO REPORT, March 1999. What a dope groove, I like the choice of samples, and loops are dope. I don't know if I wouldcall this a song, but it is a great track to listen to if you are working out, kicking back reading abook and of course if you are at a dance club. I found this artists from the MP3 BB, they posted that they are from Macedonia and I decidedto check them out. I like them and I think the arrangement, programming is great. Who is thegirl, where did you get the sample from? Or is she a part of your whole act? Whatever, godownload this song, it is worth it if you like Electronic Music. - review of "Friends", SCHEFF REVIEWS, April 1999. I like Tripnotic - great sounds, excellent quality and the production is good. He approaches electronic music from a different route altogether and this makes his style quite interesting. I have to say, Tripnotic has quite the aural imagination and it's a good quality to have. He may not write the type of structured songs that hit big on the radio but he's freakily interesting. It's probably not for the standard electronic music fan but if you like to take a lot of acid or smoke large amounts of pot when listening to loud music, then tripnotic is the project for you. - RAW42, May 1999. Tripnotic stands for worked out, grooving beats, well choosed samples and excellent production quality. - BEATMAKA, August 1999. |
