--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Matthew Shakers performing talents began very early encompassing piano, singing, acting and dance. With the added benefit of a father who played piano and a grandmother who was a big band singer, Matthew received the encouragement he needed to embrace performing and songwriting so early in life.
By age 16, this Southern California native was a seasoned musical theater performer and had written much of the musical scores for two original musicals that toured the U.S. with the Creation theater project in Anaheim, Ca. He has also studied at the prestigious Uta Hagen actors institute in New York. This was the spark that ignited his Pop/Jazz songwriting pursuits, leading him into an enjoyable career in Cabaret and Piano rooms across the Nation and abroad.
Matthew has appeared in films and television and has entertained audiences aboard the most prestigious cruise lines sailing today, performing in shows produced by Emmy award winner Anita Mann (of Solid Gold fame).
Matthew has been awarded honors in several national songwriting contests, affirming his impressive ability for writing in many genres including Pop, Rock, Country-Western and Jazz.
Dance Romance is the title of his debut CD just recently released on his own Yummiroo Music label, available now at selected stores and major online music retailers.
