Once upon a time, in 1992 to be exact, and in this small town known as Chécy in France, Manu and Anthony (Duke) met together. Duke had the pretention to be a drumer and Manu to be a bassist. Duke tried the guitar, and together they began a spacy show with a female singer (Layna) and a drumer (BJ). This little group was known as Purple Daisy, then was renamed Miss Gates.
Marceau joined the band in 1995. 1997 was the year when the actual drumer replaced the former one and the arrival of Sandra as the new singer. This was the beginning of Sugarkane !

Soon Thierry began to write the lyrics,  Sugarkane career could really start :

* March 1996 16th : At  La Chapelle Orléans, still under the name Miss Gates
* April 1998 19th : Le Printemps de Bourges
* May 1997 10th : Le Cri de l'Oreille at Orléans la Source
* April 1998 4th : Concert Rock at Brasles
* April 1998 11th : Concert at Mardié
* March 1998 21st : The Night of the 7th Art at Lille
* February 1999 5th : Au Petit Bouchon at Orléans
* April 1999 16th : Concert at the Couleurs Café at Fleury les Aubrais
* June 1999 18th : Le Grand Unisson on the scene Charles de Gaulle of Saint Jean de la Ruelle

During 1999, september, the team as changed once again : Sandra and Thierry had to go to higher spheres... But it did not prevent the group to continue. Today, lyrics are signed by Marceau, and the singing is performed by Duke, Manu and Marceau.

Sugarkane gives a concert each year at the music celebratrion in Orléans, mainly at La Place du Martroi. Come and see if you can!
