Dear Fans...
We are sorry, but due to recent changes made by mp3.com this page will now be closed.
Back in 1998 mp3.com was the best way for unsigned artists to gain exposure on the web. Over the years many changes have been made, most of which were beneficial to the artists which helped mp3.com get where it is today. But typically when big businesses get *too* big, they start to forget their roots and stop caring about anything which is not making them money.
Recently their have been more & more well-established artists appearing on mp3.com. Many of the original mp3.com musicians felt this was unfair, as artists such as Madonna, Offspring, Dido, (etc) do not need the extra promotion - everybody knows who they are and CDs are available already in shops all over the world.
Even more recently, we have seen the inclusion of 'premium artists' who pay $20 a month and get priority song releases, no adverts on their pages, and generally a better service from mp3.com for their money. This has meant that those of us who did not pay the $20 got a worse service, and experienced problems such as songs taking months before they were approved. It has also meant that artists now send out more spam mail than ever before, just so they get their money back in the payback-for-playback scheme. Not naming names, but NEURALMAN sends me about 3'000 f**king emails alone.
What about the payback scheme? Surely thats a good thing? well, in a word, no. It sux. Speaking as a UK artist, cheques are up to 12 months late with a load of tax deducted. For example, somebody earns $1'000 in payback earnings. In 6-12 months they will recieve a cheque for about $700, if they're lucky. Then you have to declare it for tax in UK also otherwise you're breaking the law. Then your bank (the thieving...) will want about $50 for changing the money into Sterling Pounds, and they'll have to send the cheque BACK to america to get them 'verified' - so you have to wait another 6-10 weeks. So you had $1'000 and a year or so you recieve $500. Not good.
Now mp3.com have a wonderful new idea, they are scrapping the payback scheme unless you pay the $20 a month for the 'premium' service. Bribery? not us officer. Thats $20 per month per PAGE so for me it would cost $140 a month. Which is more than i make in payback, so to compete on mp3.com i would be constantly losing money. Maybe if mp3.com didn't spend so much money in US courts fighting about copyright material, they'd have enough money to continue the payback scheme to everybody. Basically, mp3.com charts now mirror the pop charts in that the amount of money spent by the record-company is proportional to how high a chart position you get. It's no longer about the music.
So, in a nutshell, i'm closing all 6 of my mp3.com artist pages. The only page that will remain to be updated is the main record label page at www.mp3.com/classArecs. I would write more, but my computer keeps crashing....damn thing :(

Remixed by L. Silver [mp3.com/lsilver] in the same Drum & Bass style. Dancefloor orientated loops and over-the-top drum pattern stuttering lead into a cheesily phat bassline, complete with manic crashing industrial sounding snares & hits. Vocals have been severely effected and there's all the usual swirly noises and synths thrown in for good measure too. Might be a little too in-ya-face for some peeps... | MP3.com CD: Blood Money [EP] - buy it!
