Robot vs. Rabbit is a phenomenon that occurs when three specific individuals create sounds at various frequencies; the sound produced by one individual propelling the other two individuals to counter-react with sounds of their own. Sound waves move through air, water, and solids as a series of compressions and rarefactions. For example, a loud speaker rapidly vibrates forward and backward in response to the electrical signals it receives. When it moves forward it compresses the air; when it moves backward it expands the air. These alternating compressions and expansions travel through the air to the eardrum. The eardrum translates the varying pressures of the sound waves into signals that are interpreted by the brain as sounds.
Music, like all language, is drawn from observation...Robot vs. Rabbit is language, specifically the communication between three individuals, each in a hyper focused state of mental and physical struggle, filtering into music the world around them. Abandoning accepted musical structure and utilizing traditional and modern tools, these three set out to find what they feel are proper combinations of frequency, pitch, and tone to express what they would otherwise put into words. We are Robot vs. Rabbit. We create sounds.
