Another review: AUTOreverse Independent Audio Magazine Think gritty R&B, then blend in appalachia and the US Civil War. Take it all to an underground bohemian art gallery boutique poetry jazz thingy. The Gruntpack has that tight, dry r&b sound but they write songs with an arty, post-rock sensibility. To say that I liked this CD would be the understatement of the year. I listen to it constantly. The singer has that strung-out but hopped-up urgency in his voice, and the lyric imagery is vibrant, surreal, funny but not in a corny or jokey way. These guys rule. -JH Christ, AUTOreverse Magazine #10 Click below to... send me email: ergg@comcast.net

This comes to us from former Groovy Like a Pig members and captures all of the zanyhillbilly-type garage rock informality with lots of great songs to get you yelping, happy to be invited to this mud bath of time.Imagine Violent Femmes on a good day and you're pretty close to Gruntpack's sound and fans of that will be instant lovers of this. Highly recommended.Reviewed by Bryan Baker,10/30/98,GAJOOB.
