Kraft (Cathrin Benesch) und Hoffmann (Frieder Pfeiffer) wieder damit beschäftigt, Calw von diversem kriminellen Gesindel zu befreien. Die Kommissare werden dabei mit einer halbverwesten Wasserleiche und dem Selbstmord eines Grossindustriellen konfrontiert. Im Laufe der Ermittlungen wird klar, dass es Verbindungen zwischen den beiden Todesfällen gibt. Doch handelt es sich bei dem ertrunkenen Bankangestellten wirklich um ein Unfallopfer? Hat sich der Unternehmer Till Ritter (Wolfgang Hellmich) für die Rettung seiner Firma gar selbst geopfert? Welche Rolle spielen die Kinder Ritters (Saskia Stöss, Markus Kiefer)?
