Scapedog is kind of a Christlike thing, in my mind. There's this poor nasty, balding dog out there somewhere that is carrying the burdens and sins of the world on its back. The dog is a wanderer, with flies buzzing round its head and boils on its paws. It roams the earth, being ignored and chased away. You would not want this dog to sleep on the end of your bed. I think it drinks martinis too, and smokes through a hole in its throat.
