Corepolis
A great folk band from Italy. Both ancient and contemporary tunes
are taken or inspired by the traditional music of Mediterranean area. These
songs feature incredibly beautiful voices, and both ancient and
electric intruments. Each listening is a deep experience in the
Mediterranean tradition, mainly focused on the neapolitan heritage. Corepolis
use ancient rhythmic instruments such as Tammorra and Taburello, whose usage was
depicted in wall paintings in Pompeii, a ten string guitar called
"battente" (made only with "E" strings, with no basses),
several kind of flutes and percussions, double bass and so on. The lyrics are in
Neapolitan language.
