"The Heart On Your Sleeve is a she-don't-love-me-anymore lyric wrapped in
the quintessential country beat, a Bakersfield shuffle. I wrote it at a time
when I was playing with a variety band that did some country, but only the
newer pop and rock country of the 90's, which is to say, not country at all.
Never trust a country band that can't or won't play a shuffle!

Mr Heartache is a punchy treatment of a tried and true theme, the
personification of the blues.

Usually I write a lyric first, then music. My Love Is True came in reverse
order, starting with the opening percussison & guitar groove, something that
I heard on a CD by a great writer and guitarist, Buddy Miller.
