Greetings!
You're invited to be a part of an internet first: Jim Clayton is inviting you, the listener, to get involved in the production of his second CD!
The songs marked "demo" are being considered for "Shift", the follow-up CD to Jim's debut, "Muskoka".
We want to know what you think. Give the demos a listen, and send us your thoughts. Everyone's suggestions will be read and discussed.
Some things to listen for: melody, chord progressions, arrangements, song length, solos... whatever you think worth mentioning is of interest to us!
You can email us (click on the "send email" in the right-hand column) or post your comments to the guestbook.
This demo page is ongoing, and the demos will be reposted as they're re-recorded, up til the CD's release.
Make sure you leave your email address... when the CD is finished and manufactured, you'll be eligible for a specially-low-priced copy of "Shift", the album you helped produce!
There's also tracks from "Muskoka", Jim's debut... check them out!
And as always...
Thanks for listening!

Starts with a cool piano riff, then the band kicks in. This is the first demo version to be posted here, so feedback is more than welcome (the solos will probably be sax and B3). Drumming courtesy of Bryan Humphreys. |

This demo is similar to the previous version, but with drumming added by Bryan Humphreys (playing TrapKat drum triggers and an Alesis drum module). |

A lyrical ballad built around a few simple motifs. This demo ends where the instrumental solos would begin; a full-length demo will be posted soon. Inspired by a charmingly obnoxious singer/songwriter friend. |
