18-June-2002: The interview I did with the Dutch Music Maker is published in the July edition, which is due out this week. Also, the work on the next Art.461 album is progressing swiftly. 15-March-2002: I'm sorry I didn't get to update the page lately, but things have been hectic for me. I spent most of my time preparing for the showcase of my new band Movie Live! This is a band that plays songs from Movies only (Fame, Saturday Night Fever, Grease, Back To The Future, The Full Monty, etc). The Showcase was held last Saturday and the responses were terrific! Besides that I've finished the Sneak Preview of "Shouting Silence" which I sent to a number of record companies. They seem to enjoy my work a lot... I'm going to be contributing to next album of the promising AOR project called Lec Zorn. I have a track here for a new record of Phil Vincent on which I have to do some sick and weird guitars (Phil told me to do that!). I'm in the process of writing new songs for Shouting Silence right now. A song I wrote and recorded with Franky v/d Burgt will appear on the upcoming Frontiers / Now & Then Productions NYC charity album "United". Our track has a big chance of opening the album. Besides Franky and myself, we have Jeff Pilson (Dokken) on bass and Tony O'Hora (Praying Mantis) on vocals. The song is titled "Dreams for Tomorrow". My two songs on the 5th Year Anniversary MP3 giveaway of www.melodicrock.com were downloaded about 2.000 times.... 11-December-2001: Finally had time to update the page. I've been working hard on a second song for the NYC Charity album. Unfortunately I cannot tell you who is joining me on this song, but these are very big names... I did an interview with the Dutch Music Magazine "Music Maker" last week, which will appear in the February edition of the magazine. I'm busy mixing the first 7 tracks of "Shouting Silence", which I hope to have completed by the end of the year. Two of my songs (Better Days and Telling Lies) will be featured on www.melodicrock.com as my contribution to their 5th Anniversary Celebration MP3 Giveaway. 15-October-2001: Ok, the ball is starting to roll! I've added Joe Vana of Mecca (the band with amongst others Fergie Fredriksen and David Hungate) and World Stage (the band with Jim Peterik) fame to the list of guests appearing on "Shouting Silence". Joe will have his own web site and a Mecca site up soon. For now check out www.melodicrock.com for more info and soundclips. Another great singer I've added to the list is Tony O'Hora from Praying Mantis. There is interest of various record companies to release Shouting Silence. I've been asked to contribute a song for the Rock Charity album of which all earnings will go to the (families of) victims of the September, 11th disaster. I've donated "Casualties of War". The list of other artists appearing on the cd includes some very big names! 18-September-2001: Like probably many of you I'm shocked about the terrible attacks that hit the US. Ever since that Tuesday I've been constantly thinking about these actions and the possible reactions to the attacks. My heart goes out to everyone who lost a dear one or does not know about the whereabouts of a loved one. All the best to all of you! 24-August-2001: Although there have not been many updates lately, I have been very busy. I'm working on the 6th song of my upcoming solo album "Shouting Silence". Ed James just finished doing the vocals for a song called "Better Days" which was the 5th song I recorded for my album. I have been writing songs with keyboardplayer/singer Frank v/d Burgt for a side project, and I have Henk Hager (ex-Diesel vocalist) coming in to do some backing vocals for some songs of "Shouting Silence". 22-July-2001: There are a lot of reviews of Fanfields on the Fanfields Web site. I'll be playing in Cafe Bordeaux/Eetcafe De Tijd in Almere Centre on September, 13th. I'm bringing along: Lenox (bass), probably Henri van Bergen (drums, Ex-Powerplay, Ex-VOF de Kunst), Marcel v/d Berg (vocals) & Frank v/d Burgt (keys). 25-May-2001: Because of my vacation unfortunately I'm not able to play on a session in the Dutch city Hilvarenbeek. This session will be on the 12th of June and will feature Mark Boon (guitar, Ex-Diesel, Ex-Zoo, Ex-Vitesse), Ivo Severijns (bass, Herman Brood & Wild Romance, Ex-Powerplay), Henri van Bergen (drums, Ex-Powerplay, Ex-VOF de Kunst), Marcel v/d Berg (vocals) & Frank v/d Burgt (keys). If you have the chance to go see it, do so, these are great players! Another review of Fanfields. RockNet has a great one online: Fanfields Review on RockNet 02-May-2001: Phil Vincent said some nice things about Fanfields and me in two interviews he did with Electric Basement: Phil Vincent Interview April 2001 Phil Vincent Interview January 2001 27-april-2001: The second review of the Toto Tribute Album "Fanfields" is in: 9 out of 10 points! Nicky Baldrian's Fanfields review on Strutter Magazine web site 26-april-2001: I've had a blast jamming with amazing guitarist Mark Boon (Ex-Diesel, Ex-The Zoo) last Saturday. Mark will probably be appearing on my solo cd as a guest. Mark's band will have a record out by summertime. Check it out by then! 25-april-2001: I'm going to record drums for the next Art.461 CD at the end of May 19-april-2001: The first review of the Toto Tribute Album "Fanfields" is in: 8 out of 10 points! "Fanfields" - Toto Tribute CD 01-february-2001: I've been selected as the Guitarist of the month on www.speeltgitaar.nl 22-january-2001: Hello there!
