What
is the Dubster
Connection?
|
The Dubster
Connection is
basically a cooperation of mixers and players of instruments. It is open
to all human beings who are interested in producing high-quality Dub
Music.
Two kinds of activity are needed to produce a Dub track in the sense
adopted here:
1. Someone
first has to record and arrange a set of basic
tracks. The result
should be some sort of a Reggae
song. A rough mix of that track is then uploaded to
the Dubster Connection page. You can identify these tracks by their
names: XYZ - PURE
RIDDIM. These
mixdowns of the raw audio source are online for a single reason: To make
the mixers get an impression of the RIDDIM,
i.e. the basic song idea.
2. Then
it's up to the Dubsters
(Dub mixers) to get in touch with the RIDDIM.
They will get access
to the source audio files via e-mail
or ftp
and work hard on it: They build up a new
song structure,
erase some parts of it, add sounds, voices and instruments, and apply lots
of audio effects
like echo, reverb, equalizer, flanger, phaser on the basic tracks. The
result is a full deconstruction of the RIDDIM,
and a unique piece of Dub
Music. All these
wicked tracks can be downloaded from this page for free! |
To the
audience: All we do
is just for Your entertainment! Enjoy the tracks, feel irie and come
back soon. |

This one hits me! I admire this guy for his very professional keyboard playing. This track has a lot of excellent small keyboard patterns with very exiting sounds. I personally like the Clavinet patterns the most. This is the first track that he did on his very own with a riddim from this page. But don't forget about the famous tracks he worked on with his partner Messian Dread (the last one to be uploaded was a version of the Sensi Man Riddim). Respect! |

"I didn't play much but did a lot of timbre editing." - Indeed. Liqih used the midi source of the riddim to make it sound very very different from the sketch I did before. If You have the opportunity to mix two different mp3's together and play it on Your computer, You'll have another very tough dub version from this. What happened to Your guitar, Liqih? |

This one is the latest riddim of Vicious Vic. His version will be published at www.mp3.com/ViciousVic, too. But watch out for the versions the Dubster Connection members will supply. At this webpage, as usual. Heavy bassline, fe true?! |
