WHALEBONE IS THE BIGGEST AND BADDEST HARDCORE GROOVE RIP-HOP BAND IN THE WORLD.

This may sound like a bold-ass statement, but Whalebone backs these loaded adjectives with the kinds of performances that the intensity-starved public has had to do without since the end of the last World War. This Memphis-based quartet wants to make sure every one of it’s shows is the absolute “bomb” for all those lucky enough to attend. With songs ranging from Groove-Core Rap to Ska-Slam to Industrial-Melodic, these guys tear through their set with a non-stop action that would embarrass even the gutsiest Network Supercop. Backed by a slammin’ beat, the guitar & bass throw up some face-ripping heavy stomp, while techno-funk keyboards & rap / sing vocals drop the hooks that make you glad to be a fish in this ocean of bad-ass groove. Dangling on the line of a live set that’s strung together with samples, drum loops and hula hoops, every scaly, slimy one of you is sure to drown in the Monty-Pythonesque scream-of-consciousness.
WHOA! Wait a minute! Just who the hell are these guys, and where do they come from? Well, prior to the individual revelations and eventual salvation beneath the “Whalebone umbrella”, the four had logged thousands of gigs together and separately all across the country, in different scenes and under many banners. Surviving the musical shit-rain of a terrifying era, three of the four, Mossface on guitar, Hopper on bass, and Sincman on drums hooked up in ‘92. Together they plunged into the new decade, kicking the rotting corpse of the glam-metal age along the way.
Despite a raging turd-storm of its own, the 90’s offered cool-a-plenty for those willing to bite, and these guys devoured everything. Savoring only the bloodiest, tastiest chunks they tossed the remains onto the pile of musical excrement always available to the litter-conscious pioneers of the ages. With belches and other noisy expressions of satisfaction, they looked upon what they had created and saw that it was good......but they wanted more.
The feast was finally made complete in late ‘96 with a steaming helping of Techno-Funk keyboards brought to the table by MixMastaB, a fellow pilgrim on the road to “salvation through total immersion in rip-hop-cool.” The resulting vibe was of such disgusting proportions that it’s only safe release is on a stage near you.
As we Rip our way into the next decade, the choice is yours: embrace it now, or spend the rest of your life making excuses for letting the ‘Bone slip through your fingers and staining your good clothes, you clumsy bastards.
