NEW! The long-awaited extended version of BNW is has arrived! After the odd opening
sample, a deceptively quiet bass
pulse behind Gregor's vocal on the intro gives way to a mind-expanding wash of synth
textures to a beat. The 2002 remix adds
almost 4 minutes of full frontal psychedelicious electronica to the instrumental section of
the song.

It's not that Tom Gregor was an angry child ... he was simply prone to striking objects at random to hear the sounds they'd make. Such were the early signs of raw, unfettered musical hyperactivity.
He would have been a violinist, given his choice, but the lack of available instruments dictated fate. Instead, he became a guerrilla drummer, a twelve-year-old percussion vigilante, pounding away at instruments of his own creation, assembled from whatever he could find.*

His present-day 24-track digital studio is strewn with Bic lighters and coffee cans, metal boxes and rubber bands, the sounds of which now punctuate the soundscapes that emanate in oceanic waves from the speakers. The raw creative impulse remains, but has transformed into a focused, technology-fueled passion for aural gratification.

Tom Gregor has become a gifted multi-instrumentalist. His compositions are sometimes sparse and minimal, with sounds that are warm and in your face like a steaming sauna towel on a cold day. At other times, the scope is grand. Luscious layered textures shimmer with depth and dimensionality. Slip into another world ...

Sometimes there are words. When Tom Gregor writes a lyric, it's unusual, universal, and uplifting; personal, poetic and painful; insightful, impulsive and imaginative. Grab a seat on the roller coaster of his life, ride along in a lyric so descriptive that you can feel the whiplash as your brain bangs against your skull on the sharp turns.

Find yourself on a journey to somewhere it never occurred to you to want to go ... but why didn't it? Go deep into southern Mexico to seek out the local shaman down in the Yucutan; stand on the fiery volcanic surface of Jupiter's moon Io. In the realms of inner or outer space, no subject is too intimate, or too ecstatic.

|
Released two albums, Io and Continua, under the name Ian TC. These are instrumental albums in the symphonic electronica genre.
"A beautifully recorded and packaged debut." --Electronic Musician "An accomplished piece of work...Excellently recorded..." -- Option.
"Continua, the follow-up to his smashing debut album Io is, if anything, even more smashing. Extends Io's mix of gently atmospheric clouds of sound melding into driving rock tunes, showing a natural mastery of both." -- Electronic Musician.
A new album is due for release in spring, 2002.
