Beware of Clevo ... started off in Iowa City, the land of righteous corn, crank, and the Iowa Writer's Workshop. Beware of Clevo, now living in Seattle, center their pop songs around intricate guitar riffs and vocal harmonies, adding just enough noise to make me smile (Kreg Hasegawa, The Stranger, 8/10/2000).
Beware of Clevo really stand out as a unique-sounding pop band. There are a lot of dynamics going into every song, and this new batch of recordings adds cello, Moog, and samplers to their core sounds of guitar, bass, drums, and violin.
The male and female vocalists have really stepped up as well, adding an element of visceral poetry to the mix.
