A transcription for guitar from Isaac Albeniz Piano work. The eminent Spanish composer (1860-1909) was endowed with exceptionally precocious musical gifts, he performed as a child pianist. Almost all of Albeniz's works are written for piano, and all are inspired by Spanish folklore. Rather than imitate the imitations of national Spanish music by French and Russian composers, he stablished the modern school of Spanish piano literature, derived from original rhythms and melodic patterns. Asturias, named after the Asturias region in Spain is strongly influenced by the music of Andalucia, specially by the Granadinas Flamencas. It is a well known fact that when Albeniz heard Tarrega perform his transcription of the piece he had to admit that he had composed, not knowing, a piece for the guitar eventhough it was written for piano. Enjoy the magic of this great piece of music. | MP3.com CD: Classical Guitar Music 1 - buy it!
