A debunking of the romantic view of Charles Edward Stuart as "Bonny Prince Charlie". This song tells of his greatest blunder which was to lead to the destruction of the Highland Clan system. |

This song was gifted to me by an Appalachian Dulcimer. I picked up one for the very first time and struck the notes that make up the chorus "For we were sixteen unarmed women..." and those words came silmultaneously. The rest of the story followed rapidly and an hour later the first draft was written. Pure inspiration! The instrument in question had been in my friend Cathy Burge's family for some time... so I like to think it's a true story that nobody before me got round to recording for posterity. |
