My name is Bill Cane, and I am a songwriter who lives in Great Falls, Montana; The Big Sky Country.
The songs you are about to hear, I call NEW! Golden Oldies. Because unless you live in Great Falls or Spokane, Washington, you have never heard them.
I've seen ninty-three years go by, and I have written these songs over the span of my life, beginning in the 1930's. I call them "Golden Oldies" because the majority of them are written in that style. But I have mixed them up with songs I wrote later in life, such as a few swing numbers, which most Golden Oldies are; they're swing. In fact that's where swing began.
Most of the recording I did myself, both instrumentally and vocally. But some of the songs were done by others, and a few of which I was one of the performers. When you hear a single male voice accompanied only by a piano, I will be the singer, and the pianist will be Alaine Byrne who lives and performs here in Great Falls, Montana, where I have lived most of my adult life.
If you like this album, it is available from this website. There are twenty-two songs on the album.
So here we go, with Bill Cane's NEW! Golden Oldies.
