A pop-ish tune with a Brazilian flair. Jackie wrote it three years ago, after the breakup of a long-term love affiar. "I thought this could lend itself to a jazz reading." Allen says. And she's right. |

The song appeared to Allen as she was about to leave on a vacation in 1992. "I just started hearing the melody and chords in my head, so I made song scribblings on a piece of paper. When I returned home and saw the paper, the song came back to me, very quickly in fact, and so I decided it was worth putting down." Wan and evocative, the song occupies that mid-ground between jazz and cabaret as it takes a different route than the usual love song. |
