| The only thing that's changed in this song since the founding of the bnad fifty years ago is the name... originally called the "Washington and Lee Swing," this was evidently forgotten and the song was named "Marching Bands," avoiding the neccessity of the bnad having to learn a title that was different from the lyrics. |

| This marathon session was recorded over 72 hours in a groundbreaking session in which eight bnad members lost their lives. It was then sped up 788 times to produce the current version, which features solos on everything except the kitchen sink, which broke during rehearsal. |
