With a running time of over
seventy minutes Universal Reversal is a ten-track album, seven of which are
freestyle improvisation. Spontaneous music, which was created on the spot
with no rehearsal or planning, sometimes not even a word spoken, just music. The
other three have precision structure to them while still maintaining sprinkles of improvised
delight. It features Joseph Wooten on keyboards, theremin, and more. An eight year veteran
of, The Steve Miller Band, he can also be seen working with his younger
brother Victor Wooten and playing with his own group, Joseph and the Hands Of
Soul. Also featuring Squankidonk from, Squanky Kong, setting up the
groove on six string bass with drummer Dwayne Taylor. Special guests include Don
Latarski on guitar and Chris Dunkelberger on guitar. A collage
of styles flowing in a raw stream of jams, scattered with surprising structure
and precision. Each song with a different feel and venture into the world on improvisation.
(The Mp3 samples are of much lesser quality than the CD. The CD, mastered by Bernie
Grundman in Hollywood, CA (recent work Fleetwood Mac and Staind) sounds pristine
by comparison. It also includes a 12-page full color booklet
with pictures of nebulas, galaxies and more in addition to production notes. Available
only at www.squank.net)

This is one of the only three planned out, written songs of the album. Featuring the trio which is Universal Reversal with no guest guitars. It spins a mixture of latin and funk with classic jazz. |

A spontaneous creation pulled from the moment in an expression of improvisation. This song has a laidback nature with nice classic rock overtones and features a guest guitarist named Chris Dunkelbereger.(Partial) |
