Although commonly portrayed as a huntress, Artemis was also prominently associated with childbirth. Women who died in the throes of labor were said to be "struck by the arrows of Artemis." This is an interpretation of what it might be like for her to look back with remorse on those that were destroyed, constructed from mutations of music box sounds and a fetal heartbeat. Also a possible rememberence of the first few months of life and a working out of confusions stemming from cesarian birth. |
