"A Step Back" is a song i was writing with my friend Steve when we were together in the last band. I decided to keep the same concept for the song even though it was pretty much all Steves experience. Overall its just about being on a completely rediculous date. A little lame to hear I'm sure given the mood of the track but I feel it was still pulled off in a respectable fashion, not to mention the fact that this is from a completely outside view. So this ones for you Steve, I think when people hear what its about they'll understand what im sayin a little easier

This is a more personal song to me. The person its written about knows who she is, and that I love her to death. Bottom line: a good friend of mine went through some rough times, and it was hard for her to find a way out. So I wrote this song to show her how i feel. I believe its a song other people can relate to as well so Im glad it turned up on the demo.

"Dialate" tells the story of a relationship gone bad. When the song begins, you get the impression that maybe the victim in question is simply being "beat up" and bullied around. As the track progresses, however, Its revealed that its actually a mental battle fought between two people. Its honestly fairly simple, which is surprising because its the longest song we've written to date, but somehow we pulled it off with help from great musicians to find ways to carry the lyrics through smoothly.
