firefly continues the introspective and uniquely Canadian tradition of performers like the
Rheostatics, Cowboy Junkies, and Neil Young without compromising their fresh, original approach to song writing.
Neil Little, guitarist, and singer of the group, harkens from the singer-songwriter tradition. Jeff
Appel plays bass and has his roots in the Do-It-Yourself mid-eighties hardcore/punk genre.
Drummer, Nick Bailey was raised to the sounds of Motown, England's mod
scene and country's original bad boy Waylon Jennings. The cumulative effect of this union calls upon these respective influences while managing to achieve something that would be impossible individually; firefly.
The performance is dynamic; the music infectious; the lyrics compelling. firefly, is a band to be experienced.
firefly has a unique contribution to make to Canadian music. Let them be heard.

Arriving late at the party and finding out the cake has been cut and eaten. No one saved you a piece. Richard Harris will sing this song in 5 years in the tradition of MacArthur Park. |
