If you are looking for polished, over-produced, radio-friendly music, you won't find it here. Furthermore, we don't care about a band image (looks, gimmicks, etc.). Image is NOTHING... thirst is EVERYTHING. "We satisfy our thirst by PLAYING MUSIC!" signed, the band...
You have entered the realm of OUCH YONDER. We are a 3-piece, completely spontaneous instrumental jam band based in the Orlando, Florida area. We adhere to one belief: "Let the music speak for itself". Our music is pure self-indulgence... jams that usually exceed 20 minutes (and quite often surpass the 30 and 40-minute mark now), without any pre-conceptions of where it will go next as we are playing. The style is mostly rock, but can expand into metal, punk, blues, jazz, or reggae. The very beginning of this project happened in November of 2001, while theJALOPY (then known as The Parramore Hellcats) was in a slight vacation... the guitarist/singer at that time was away on vacation for a week. Keith, whom had played with Farrell in a previous band, accepted an offer to come out and jam. The first night was intriguing enough for Keith that it enticed him to come back out two nights later, and a strong vibe quickly developed. 10 months later, the three of us had the opportunity to start jamming together again for fun. There was never any intention of turning it into a 'band' that had to play out, record a cd, and what not... in other words, no pressure! It was simply a little project for the three of us to do what we all wanted to do most: be ourselves playing music. Since October, each jam has improved the vibe and tightness of this project. Every session has been recorded live to 2-track, and we are now editting down the best parts of the recordings and compiling a cd (or two, or three, or... hahaha). We have also entertained the thought of booking a gig this summer strictly to enjoy the vibe of a live performance once again, and to showcase what we are about to our family and friends (and anyone else daring enough to experience our self-indulgence... hehe).
Quick note about the recordings: The music available below was recorded live to 2-track, utilizing a Mackie 1404 mixer and 8 microphones, with no compressors or processors, recording directly to mini-disc. They were all recorded at Farrell's house in a 10x10 bedroom known as Exile Garage. There was no recording engineer at any time while we were jamming, so the levels and mixes will vary. There is occasional sloppiness during the performances (especially due to the fact that we usually consume around half of a 750ml of rum, whiskey, vodka, etc. before we start our jams... hahaha), but this is who we are and this is as real as it gets. We wouldn't want it any other way...

10m10s un-editted song. This one is more blues/jazz oriented for the most part, other than a rocking section towards the end. |
