Sometimes when you grow up together or know each other long enough things just fall into place... Two brothers along with two friends equals four people that make music the way it is supposed to be. Exciting. The Degrees formed in 2001 as an excuse for some friends to get together. After jamming for a few weeks, Ken, Reylan and Lino decided to show off their new music. At a local open mic night the three would play their electric guitars and bass into practice amps to keep the volume down. The other performers played acoustic guitars and were confused. They were quickly won over by the music. After a few well received nights, the boys were asked to play a full show. They told the club owner that they had a drummer. They didn't. Jim joined the band to play drums. Even though the four had known each other for years, this is the first time they played together formally. In a few weeks they had a set down. They settled on the moniker "Crosswalk" to honor a bar frequented after the original jam sessions. That name would be replaced by "The Degrees" in early 2003. The band converts bar patrons and other bands into fans with it's music, continuing to rock into the '03....Are you next?
