WHAT THEY'RE SAYING ABOUT 'ARCTIC CIRCLES':
"A rarity: impeccable craftsmanship and great art" Miguel Sopena, 'Red Pepper', UK
"Great Music ...... some of the best I've heard in years" Paul Carosi, Radio Freetunes, USA
"The Questionnaires are a cut above the rest ...." Squib, Besonic scout and reviewer
"Blessed with the songwriting skills and attention to detail of Steely Dan or Prefab Sprout ........ The Questionnaires demonstrate that sometimes there is no substitute for experience" Jonathan Leonard 'Leonard'sLair'
"Phenomenal production...." Mark Hewer, MP3.com, Canada
"I join the chorus of those who say your production is top notch. I would go further in saying it is amongst the best I have heard anywhere. The Questionnaires are a great band." Ken Tancrus, MP3.com, USA
"The Questionnaires put together some of the most perfectly executed, elegantly produced music I have ever heard. There is nothing about this recording that doesn't stink of pure professionalism... talent to the clouds" Gods Of Music, USA
".... dark voice that was last heard on the better Annie Lennox albums .... very seldom are we served with soul-flavoured pop in this magnificent way...."Persona Non Grata, Germany
".... an enjoyable and soulful pop album with hooks aplenty .... The Questionnaires are certainly a classy, urbane act with a neat line in cool sophisto-pop." Tim Peacock, Whisperinandhollerin, UK
"... a record you will not grow weary of." A-rated album, the same rating as Vienna Teng on 'The Best Female Musicians', USA

From the album Arctic Circles. A cool, sophisticated funky song, but with a hard message about life dominated by the corporations. Floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee. |

From the Album Arctic Circles.
"I really enjoyed ‘Forty Years Of Peace’ there's good anti-war stuff here, done without the ‘steel raining down/another baby dead’ type lyrics that you might find elsewhere. It’s very topical, very true to itself and if you listen to nothing else from them, listen to this one and vote it up the charts. Trust me – play it!"

Many people now regard this as the flagship song from the album Arctic Circles. A dark, icy piece about the feeling of powerlessness as the West moved inexorably towards the 'pure and perfect' marketplace and friendships fragment as we scramble on board. Jane Wade excels herself on this track, complemented perfectly by Steve Hall's great guitar riff and haunting arrangement. Take a deep breath before playing this. |

From the album Arctic Circles. Impossible to describe. Great vocals from Jade Wade, wrapped in one of Steve Hall's trademark quirky chord sequences built round Duncan Noble's original riff. The lyric asks us to reflect on who or what we are working for every day. As if we care..... |

From the album Arctic Circles. A slow-burning jazz-flavoured song. Off-centre and plaintive, like the Modern Jazz Quartet meets Dido - or something like that anyway. Great vibes and string arrangements from Steve Hall. Alternative music that accompanies the transition from anger to irony .... oh dear, pseud's corner alert..... |
