Kingdom of Fools - AVAILABLE NOW
In the independent recording business since 1997, and with a slew of albums already under his belt, John Wyatt Edgar has finally made a "proper" debut.
Kingdom of Fools, the 73-minute epic that was released on July 29th, is his most cohesive effort to date. "I've spent the last few CDs searching out a signature sound," Edgar remarks. "This is the album I've always wanted to make."
And he's certainly had a busy year making it. The narrowly-released EP Dry Adrenaline arrived in March, proving to be a taste of what was to come. The CD's four tracks appear on Kingdom of Fools in new form, along with eleven new songs, including the catchy single "Letters Never Sent; Secrets Revealed."
"It's one of those songs about being fed up," comments Edgar. "That was basically the theme for the album--being fed up, and finding a way to move on."
But people new to the Edgar sound may find too dire of an urgency in his cataclysmic anthems. Songs like "...And The Legend Shall Live On" and "Imperfectish" bring forth a sense of ultimatum never before seen in his works. Moments like these have helped to guide John towards his next projects.
How To Be Cool, the next album from John Wyatt Edgar, will be released January 27th. Look for a single to appear on this page in the coming weeks.
