Durtbike is a a one-man project from Charlotte, NC. The performer & songwriter, Lee Crockett, has been playing and writing music for approximately 10 years. Lee has a true artistic ability to create and write songs of various styles - mainly straight up rock songs.
Raised on 80's pop and then 80's glam rock, Lee has let some of those influences mix in with a more modern sound in the range of The Smashing Pumpkins. Every once in a while, you'll also catch some southern influence in some songs, a kind of blending between The Black Crowes and Corrosion of Conformity.
The songs prior to 2002 have actually been recorded on a 4-track. Amazingly they sound relatively full taking the lack of tracks and polishing available. Since 2002, the songs were recorded on a digital 8-track allowing for more fine tuning and more ideas per song.
Lee has been in several bands, mainly in college, from 1992-1997. His band Critical Mass opened for Edwin McCain at the beginning of Edwin's career as a nationally signed artist. Lee is currently not playing with anyone and is spending a fair amount of time writing material for a cd due out in December 2003. For now, enjoy the songs put up here as they will be updated regularly. Thanks for listening!
