This Steve Reich piece was originaly written for two pianos but is easily adabtable for any keyboard insturment (mairmba and vibes in this case).
The two players start a pattern in unison and while one is playing it in steady tempo, the other accelerates slightly until he/she is a sixteen note ahead and locks in a pattern that sounds different but is really the same only misplaced. The process goes on untill 12 phases later the two players are in unison again and then the pattern changes.
Just sit back, relax and let it take you places! |
