I remember climbing Pikes Peak last summer: the air at the top is so thin that walking leaves you breathless, the atmosphere is cool and dry, and through the fog you can see straight down for thousands of feet. On Top of the World doesn't fit neatly into any of the existing genres of music. There are no lyrics, and everything is written on the computer. pulses with the calm, but understood power and awe of an approaching thunderstorm. |
