Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Melisa Kary has been a professional vocalist for 20 years. Her talent has taken her on tour with “Starship”, and kept her busy in many Bay Area recording studios.

Melisa has worked extensively as a guide and background vocalist for artists; Whitney Houston, Patti LaBelle, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Michael Bolton, Celine Dion, Peabo Bryson, James Brown, Todd Rundgren, and Mickey Thomas of ‘Starship’.

Beside her album work and touring, Melisa is also a popular vocalist among commercial composers. Her television endeavors include projects for Taco Bell, Mazda, Mattel Toys, Cost Plus, Disney, Clorox, and the list goes on. Her talent has been showcased on three on-camera assignments for Taco Bell in which she sang the lead vocal, two showcases on the Arsenio Hall Show, and she opened the season for Star Search ’87.

In sum, Melisa can do it all. She is equally at ease live, on screen and in the studio. And now with her debut record; “To My Sister”, she adds great songwriting and producing to her array of talents.
