My friend Dan says this is his favorite song on the CD. CyberCity Magazine Music Reviewer Tammy Childs said of the song: “It celebrates the good things in life; singing in the rain and dancing in the nude. It is a particularly clever song and does bring on a happy mood. The six-string banjoes and whistles attribute to its jovial nature… this tune can definitely energize you to try. So put on your smile, "take a little chance, go ahead and dance."” |

This is the only song that features keyboards on the CD, and one of my favorite effects from the sixties, wah-wah pedal. "Tree of Life" is an introspective song, written one day in Bogor, Indonesia while staring at the roots of the tree in the yard. |

Michael always called this the rain song, and so he styled his guitar work to resemble the rain on a rooftop. In Bogor it used to rain every afternoon, and you could almost set your watch to it, so this song was a celebration of that daily tropical event. |
