Les Endness - Endlessness
This is an electronica project by Patrick Fridh
and Marcus Fjellström, both from Sweden.
Marcus came up with the idea: "Let's do
like this: You create a track, something
which perhaps isn't in your usual style.
Then you send me samples of all parts
and sounds you have used. And I create
a new track out of that. After that, you
get to create your next track out of my
parts. And we can add new things as we
wish, using as much as we'd like from
the other one's composition".
In all fairness, there was a CD project
here in Sweden called 'Endlessnessism'
(Dot Records) five years ago, which we
both liked a lot, so we did our own take
on the same concept (but our own material,
of course). Now we're releasing our work
to the world at large via this mp3.com
webpage. Hope you'll like it!
By purchasing our CD you're not just getting
a great CD - you also help us raise funds
in order to keep collaborating on new
material. So we're greatful for each sold CD.
The recording sessions of "Endlessness" began
in the autumn of 2001 and was finished in
January 2003. Patrick did his parts using
in-house test build versions of Propellerhead
Reason 2.0 - up until version 2.0 (and later 2.01)
was released, since he at the time worked as
the support engineer for Propellerheads and
needed to take the program on 'road tests'.
Marcus used Steinberg Cubase on his first tracks,
then switched to Emagic Logic for the latest
tracks. As for hardware, Patrick used Macintosh
laptops, and Marcus used a desktop PC. We used no
additional hardware synthesizers except on the
song 'Der Neilac' which builds heavily on
Marcus' ancient & classic Yamaha DX7 synthesizer
and some heavy audio processing of it.
All tracks on the CD are in chronological order.
Track 1 is made by Patrick, track 2 by Marcus,
3 by Patrick, 4 by Marcus and so on.
Enjoy & don't hesitate e-mailing us your feedback.
