Mezzo-Soprano Jenny Knapp
frequently appears in Opera and Concert; some of her recent performances include Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors with The Seattle Symphony, Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro with Rainier Lyric Opera, and in recital with song cycles by Villa-Lobos, and John Duke. She has also been seen as Dorabella in Cosi fan Tutte, Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel, the First Lady in The Magic Flute, Stephano in Romeo et Juliette, Charlotte in Werther, Clara in Signor Deluso, Suzuki in Madama Butterfly, and Dame Quickly in Falstaff, among others. In April of 2003 Jenny was conducted by Gerard Schwartz singing the Mezzo solos in de Falla's Colorful Three Cornered Hat with the Seattle Symphony, and she made her debut as Carmen in Bizet's opera with Opera Pacifica in May and June. In October she will reprise Clara in Signor Deluso with VocalArts Northwest at Benaroya Hall, in November 2003 she will be seen as Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel with Rouge Opera of Oregon and she will again appear as Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, with the Seattle Symphony. Jenny can also be heard with Skagit Opera in December as the Alto soloist for the Messiah, and will appear with Opera Pacifica as Cherubino in January 2004.
