Mezzo-Soprano Imelda Franklin studies with
Erich Parce and is studying the lyric mezzo roles. She has sung Zita in
Puccin's Gianni Schicchi, the Sorceress in Dido and Aeneas, and
Mere Seanne in Dialogues of the Carmelites at the University
of Washington. This fall she sang Fidalma in the University of Washington's
Il Matrimonio Segreto, and was a District winner at the Metropolitan
Opera National Council Auditions. Miss Franklin also frequently performs
Gilbert and Sullivan roles, most notably as Dame Carrulhers in The Yeomen
of the Guard. She also performs in musical theater one of her favorite
roles performed locally was Nellie Forbush in South Pacific.
