After a nearly 10 year hiatus from recording as a duo, John Lombardo and Mary Ramsey return to the music scene with their third CD, a new disc entitled 'The Pinwheel Galaxy.'
Lombardo - a founding member of platinum recording artists 10,000 Maniacs - and Ramsey, his longtime duo and Maniacs partner, along with producer Armand John Petri, have put together a beautiful collection of folk/pop music that listeners of earlier works are speaking very highly of.
The CD's opening track, A Brighter Day sets the mood for 45 minutes of music that will take you away. Ramsey's viola and vocals transcend boundaries defined by 'pop' music for a very eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary sounds.
The new CD features the drum and percussion work of fellow 10,000 Maniacs veteran Jerome Augustyniak and there is also a tasteful sample of the late Robert Buck's guitar work.
