A wonderful lady willed that a verse of this song was to be chiseled on her gravestone; and so it was. There was a craft store in Santa Cruz named after this song as was a racing sailboat in Puget Sound; it's been quoted in a university text book, at a corporate board meeting, sung by a children's choir and appeared on the invitations to a school graduation. It's been credited for so drastically turning around the spirit of a young man who was diagnosed with a terminal disease at age 22 that he held his own funeral two months before he died because he didn't want to miss it. |
