Welcome to the History of Solar Music!
What is Solar Music? Who is Grobschnitt? Arguably Germany's most renowned, creative, talented (and crazy) progressive rock band of the 70's and 80's. Grobschnitt existed for 19 years during which they played 1,356 concerts and released 14 albums.
The flame still burns: founding member and drummer Eroc archived hundreds of live recordings over the years and has faithfully restored them in super high-fidelity for future generations to enjoy. The History of Solar Music is a 3-Volume CD series that documents the live performances of Grobschnitt's signature jam: Solar Music. After an outlandish 5 1/2 min intro that ventures from 'Yes' to 'Polka', the band launches into an intense instrumental trypno-meditation. Clocking in at 50+ minutes, we can only put up certain excerpts for you here. But, if you like what you hear, you can go right to Eroc's online shop to buy the CDs. | Complete with buzzing amps, crowd noise and unbelievable ambiance! This piece is a must for fans who are into untreated, raw psychedelic Krautrock from one of its pioneering bands. You either love or hate Wildschwein's voice, but apparently he never smokes and doesn't understand the meaning of the English text he sings. (So THAT explains it!!) |
