Props to a Friend ...
I want to extend my congratulations to a very talented fellow artist -- Lev "Ljova" Zhurbin (click for his bio and vibrant history). A recent graduate of Julliard and son of 2 well-known Russian artists, Lev recently performed "The Big Show - Live at the Orensanz". Click on the link to visit the station where he's archived the whole concert, 15 pieces in all, 73 gorgeous minutes of music from Jonathan Gandelsman, Mary Fukushima, Jeremie Michael, Thomas Hoppe, the Empyreal String Quartet, and of course, Lev. Grand kudos to this wonderful, warm, sweet and very talented writer/producer/performer and his colleagues. |

In loving memory of Shirley Marie Theresa Anne Redmond, November 10, 1946 - November 18, 2001. This song was inspired by the tremendous grace and courage of the Redmond family. They had to say goodbye to an extraordinary mother, wife and friend far too soon. "And He will raise you up on eagle's wings, bear you on the breath of dawn, make you shine like the sun, and hold you in the palm of His hand". (Psalm 91) |

To my friend, New York firefighter Joseph M. Kearney, who knows well the echo of hands freeing wings. Click on the linked title of this song to learn more about the firefighters of Engine 92 and Ladder 44 on Morris Avenue in the Bronx, and how they inspired this song.
