| January, 1991 - I wrote this song during the Persian Gulf War, in the middle of the Persian Gulf. As you might figure out, it was inspired by the war. On this particular day, I came up with 3 different lyrics or poems regarding the war. I remember it was a clear but cold day there - it may have been one of the days it snowed. I recorded it while within 60 miles of Kuwait, where the USS Paul F. Foster was stationed for the duration. We were one of three ships assigned to the Northern Persian Gulf during the entire war effort. |
